ABOUT
The Youth Environmental Action Summit (YEAS) brings together youth from across the Lower Shore of Maryland to explore ways they can take action on addressing environmental issues where they live and around the world. The Summit combines informative conference-style sessions and workshops in a fun atmosphere for a powerful day-long educational experience leading to changes in the lives, schools, and communities of young people working towards a more sustainable future.

The 2021 Summit will take place virtually on Wednesday, March 31st - scroll down to see the agenda! Students may choose to take one of the following tracks to participate in this year's summit:
Track 1: Before the summit, think about what environmental issue(s) you care most about. Register for the summit and attend relevant sessions - including an action planning session with other students who care about the same issue as you! During the summit you'll be guided through the process of thinking about solutions and designing an action project. You'll have a chance to apply for a mini-grant, if you choose, later this spring.
Track 2: Before the summit, identify a local issue and a creative solution to the issue that you could implement right here in your community. Register for the summit and submit a proposal (a short video, a timeline, and a budget) to using these guidelines by March 10th. We highly recommend working with a group of friends or classmates to put together a project proposal. During the summit you'll have the chance to interface with a relevant community leader or professional who will give you feedback and practical tips for making your project come to life. During the awards ceremony, your project will be recognized and may be awarded implementation funds thanks to our generous sponsors.
